Creating DHTs: Assembly
When you have assembled all (or many) of your assets and have thought about the design of your book you can start to assemble the parts. We are going to be using one of two tools for the construction of the books:
iBooks Author is Apple's proprietary software for the construction of eBooks. It is free for all desktop or laptop machines* A simple to use interface means making iBooks is a very smooth process. The final produce can be outputted as a .ibooks file (which can only be viewed on a Mac desktop or an iPad) or with some limited functionality as an .epub3 file. It is very easy to create m-books (see the model) in iBooks Author and there are a limited number of widgets built into the software. However the addition of other widgets is very straightforward using Widgets from Weebly or BookWidgets.
*Note: iBooks Author does NOT run on iPads
Kotobee Author is an ebook creator and pub editor, allowing you to add interactive content that can be opened through any compliant .epub3 reader. Convert your PDFs to epub3, customize the look and feel of your ebook apps, and emulate the result on different platforms and devices. Export your ebook to one of many formats, to have it running on external ebook readers, inside the web browser, as a desktop application, or natively on mobile.
